Introduction

The Shipments tab in the Control Tower is an overview of all orders that you transport or have transported. This makes it possible to track the status of shipments without immediately having all other stops of a trip in view. This is very useful for people who want to monitor network / groupage operations internally, but also to provide insight to the client.

Columns

The columns indicate status information about the shipment. The displayed order number comes directly from the planning and can be both an internal number and a customer reference number.

The second column shows the number of load carriers, if these are sent from the planning.

The third column indicates the status of the shipment. This can be: Planned, On the way or Completed. This is done on the basis of the planning and realization data in accordance with the trips in the trip list. driver has arrived on location, the time realized will be displayed. The status then only changes to ''Completed'' once the driver has left the location, after which the dots also turn gray instead of blue or red.

The fourth column provides information about the next location the driver is on his way to. When the trip is completed, this column is empty.

The fifth column provides information about the activities associated with this shipment. The following options are possible here:

By moving the mouse over the icons, detailed information becomes visible in a so-called tooltip. It contains information about:

  • The expected time of arrival (ETA)
  • The planned time
  • The requested time
  • The location

Usually a shipment always has at least one loading action and one unloading action. It is also possible that even more actions are known when a shipment is cross-docked, for example. In that case, several dots are displayed.

NOTE: Column orders can be adjusted and therefore differ.

Search field

It is possible to search for the order number in the search field. It is then possible to tick 'Exceptions', which in this case ensures that shipments that arrive too late or too early will be displayed. In the future, we want to enable more extensive rules here.

Filters

Filters make it possible to make this view relevant for the user and to work very focused. If configured it is possible to filter on:

  • Consignor (Customer)
  • Consignee (Receiver)
  • Transporter
  • Load location
  • Unload location

In addition, standard filtering can be done by means of a checkbox on: Timeliness and Status.

How do you switch between an order and a journey, in other words how do you get from an order to the associated journey and vice versa?

  • The best way is to copy the order number and paste it into the search field of the journey list. Then the relevant ride comes up.
